Tuesday 3rd January - Windsurf *** River Orwell at Levington – sunny periods then rain.

Foil – 20.86 knot max, 19.16 knot ave., 12.90 knot hour, 16.26 knot mile, 38.92 km., 15.25 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Thunderbird 6.5m.

The day started with a nice sunrise and the wind built enough to tempt me to drive over to Levington to check out the conditions, arriving at the marina at ten with plenty of water. After a quick walk to take a few pics there was enough wind to set up my foil and rig 6.5. Again, I had to go on a trek to find someone to zip me into my wetsuit, another sailor might come one day? Launching at 10.30 with plenty of water although the tide was dropping which meant a few tacks out of the channel and with the wind SSW it meant another session of long runs in smooth water, sunny periods to start with rain arriving later and messing up the wind a little. I had the River Orwell all to myself with not even one yacht today with the highlight being a buzzard fly low overhead:) Again I broke 20 knots three times with a max slightly higher than Sunday but all the other stats being a little less but good fun none the less. So, loads of fast mile runs with some good gybes too, then the rain arrived and with the tide low I decided to call it a day having been out around two hours. Pack-up, shower and home, might be the same again tomorrow, in fact there are several days of wind coming, the only trouble being trying to dry my wetsuit!
